About the event
Good living soil is the foundation for growing healthy, productive vegetable plants. In this hands-on learning experience, you’ll discover what makes soil truly “alive” and how to build a rich growing environment that supports strong roots, vigorous growth, and abundant harvests. Learn which soil amendments and organic matter can improve your garden, how to fertilize without overdoing it, and how to water properly so your plants receive the moisture they need to thrive.
We’ll focus on growing some of the garden’s favorite cool-season crops, including collards, cabbage, broccoli, mustard greens, kale, and more. You’ll learn how to prepare your garden beds, choose the right planting locations, space your plants, transplant successfully, and give your greens the best start possible. We’ll also cover practical techniques for encouraging large, healthy plants and getting the most from every growing season.
Whether you’re a beginning gardener or looking to improve your harvest, this event…
